Arnold David Watson

Arnold David Watson was the fourth child of James & Martha Watson. He was born in Northam 20th Jun 1894. On 1st Nov 1924 he married Bridget Mary Joyce and they had five children between 1925 and 1935. Arnold died at Glendalough 14th Oct 1967, aged 73 years and Bridget died at Shenton Park 16th Apr 1953.

Arnold David Watson elisted in the AIF on 9th August 1916 (7085 - 16th Battalion, 1st AIF) and arrived in France on 30th May 1917. He served there until 5th April 1919. After several months in England, he arrived back in Australia on 17th October 1919. He was awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous gallantry in the field at Hebuterne (France) on 1st April 1918. He re-enlisted on 26th February 1941 (W27677) and served in various Militia Units until his discharge on 2nd February 1948.
